In the shadow of darkness, I walk alone.

No where to run to, no where to call home.

This fear that burns inside of me grows greater each day.

The embers of ones life just fading away.

Where did all of the dreams go? Is there just no more hope?

The joy is all gone and the sorrow sets in.

How can I bounce back and see the light again?

Where do you get the strength without failing to see?

I often ask myself, "why is this only happening to me?"

People tell me not to be scared and take things one day at a time.

You never know if you'll be here tomorrow.

Keep your head high and just carry on.

Someday you'll wake up and the pain will all be gone.

You can mend your broken heart and face the world today.

One step at a time, that is the absolute only way.
