The dreams that we once shared, have now turned cold.

The promises that we have made, have now turned old.

Where do we go? What do we do?

Some day you'll figure out that I did love you.

The laughter has faded and the tears now fall.

Each day I keep wondering if it is you that will ever call.

I know I can keep on wishing because I know that you won't.

I guess I can keep saying, "I care, but you don't".

Whatever happened to, "this love of ours will last?"

I shoud now realize that it is all a thing of the past.

Now you are free to go and do as you choose.

I am the one who will in the end....lose!

So as you travel down the road in life, always remember that I was once willing to be your wife.

As I close that chapter in this endless book, I will take a moment to one last time look.

You are not there, nor will you ever be.

It is from this space that I must now flee.

There are to many reminders of those memories we once shared....all the chances that we once dared.

It is over now so take care of yourself.

Time to put all those memories away on that dark, hidden shelf.
