the endless search for something we can call our own... knowing what should ne done, but not sure how to do it.... more or less, the kind of dilemma faced by loads of teens all over the world.

SAILING ON...

I journey along the river of life

In a boat of my decisions

At every other bend and curve,

I make a new resolution

With my heart full of ambition

I had set sail on a sunny day

But today I can’t find it anywhere,

Have I lost it on the way?

I search for it in the shallow waters,

In deep, quiet pools I dive

I soon realise the futility of it all

There has to be something else for which to survive

I wander along unknown islands

I travel to faraway lands

Never do I realise that,

What I want is so close at hand

I might some day acknowledge,

That which I knew I always had

But after years of fruitless sailing

It might even be too late to do that

I need to wake up

And find the oars to this boat

Otherwise you might find me someday, on a bend in the deep,

Waiting for the river to take its course ……
