When the night is up and the day is down

When the moon isn’t bright and has a frown.

When the undergrowth begins to sing,

When you can hear the terror in the town!

When the wolves and spiders all come out

When the crows all squawk and shout.

When the owls finally appear,

That’s when they start to cheer!

For the forest is our home

And no restrictions- we can roam.

By far our life is the best,

Because we are alive and free, unless…

We make that howl again

They’ll be here near the count of ten.

They’ll run down the street with their guns,

All we can ever do is run.

For they know that we’ll make a mistake

Once even they brought a spade.

They’re pointless eyes do not see,

They never look behind a tree!

Our gorgeous colours they adore

A flush of orange, white and ginger.

In your gardens we still linger,

We’re more exciting than lots more.

So do not say that we’re not there,

‘Cause one day you’ll get a fright.

I’ll look in through your window,

At the break of night!

When the night is up and the day is down

When the moon isn’t bright and has a frown.

When the undergrowth begins to sing,

When you can hear the terror in the town!

Us foxes we have great sense of hearing,

We know your there as your nearing,

Through your window we’ll be peering,

When one of us dies,

You start your endless cheering,

That’s why us foxes we destroy,

Everything in your ground.

The humans we despise.
