In the days…of Roman legions
And the emperor…Diocletion
Lived a man…named von Lorch
Famous for…flame and torch
A soldier…a general…committed to Rome
But born in Austria…that was his home
When told to denounce…his Christian way
He said to them No…so they made him pay
They tied a rock…around his throat
And took a ride…upon a boat
There they beat him…to the ground
Then threw him over…and let him drowned
The day he died…was May four
That day God…opened his door
Sainthood is what…he was given
This man of faith…whilst he was living
 He now protects…those in dire
This patron saint…of flood and fire
