Idiscard the bottle of Jack Daniels the moment I realise it’s empty; my gaze directs itself to the bartender.
He simply shrugs and places another bottle down, his gaze one of caution. I sigh and then drink up, no; this liquid is not quenching my thirst. Nothing can anymore.
“She’s left you, hasn’t she?” the bartender says as I sit there in silence.
I shrug, my mouth forming a drunken smirk. I raise the bottle and sing tunelessly.
“And the girl from fifteen years ago, has packed and gone away!”
Sighing, the bartender leaves, letting my regrets consume me.
*Writers note, this is an entry for XbeautifulXsacrificeX's 100 Word Competition. Admittedly, I had to redo many stories for this because I ran out of characters. I hope you enjoy it!
