Cat and the slave

The fallen autumn leafs are dancing around her as she gazes at the fast moving world around her. With no worries about what the future might hold, she is untouchable in her comfort zone - zero to none.

The humans, ants, creepy crawlies and cars rushes past her at an alarming rate trying to make ends meet. She gulps up all of the haste and endulges in her own slowed down world, shuts close her eyes, daydreaming whilst the rest of the world dreams about resting.

Her days exludes her owner, but her owner includes her. He rushes out in the mornings, but she just lays. Her owner rushes back in the afternoons to feed her, but she just just lays. At bedtime he invites her to sleep on the bed next to him, Her majesty ignores him, turns around and again.. just lays, for no servent will tell her what to do. He defends off the neighbourhood dogs and stray cats - she shows gratitude by shyly rubbing up against him then.. turns around and yet again lays down in a royal manner an her self proclamed throne.

As the years past, her owner gets older and stress makes him age fast, trying to impress everyone around him, trying to get to work on time every day, trying to meeet deadlines, trying to keep nose above water and trying to keep her safe, fed and sheltered. In turn, she keeps her young features with no sign of ageing.

Now her owner is old and is on his dying bed. He now cannot move and looks at the nurses rushing past him at an alarming pace, trying to keep him from going into a cardiac arrest. His world slows down. He gives his last breath. Satisfied, he closes his eyes for the last time with her at his side.

With no despair, she stands up, turn around, walk out the door and goes and looks for a new owner.
