August was the month I left my home town,

So upset I was, yet so excited,

Reality hit home, I  would break down,

But I knew soon, we'd be reunited.

With my close family of course, who else?

They have been there for me my entire life,

In America i'd be by myself,

I began to find myself in a strife.

Angel on the left, Devil on the right,

I started to think this was the right choice,

Alls I knew, my future here could be bright,

I just prayed for God's guidance, his wise voice.

A year ago today I left for good,

A year all alone, I have now withstood.
