There is a current moving to the shore,
The swaying of the boat leans left and right,
We pray for those ahead who’ve gone before.

The waves are high, the water starts to soar,
The cold bites hard and deep into the night,
There is a current moving to the shore.

A feeling in our bones we can’t ignore,
Above the sides the battlefield in sight,
We pray for those ahead who’ve gone before.

It is our turn, we’re going into war,
Upstanding, tall and strong, our future bright,
There is a current moving to the shore.

The vomit slowly rising from our core,
The roar of gunshots, screams, a flash of light,
We pray for those ahead who’ve gone before.

We’re here, it’s up to us, our turn to fight,
To win this war of wars is our main plight,
There is a current moving to the shore,
We pray for those ahead who’ve gone before.
