Poetry is everywhere but here

Everywhere but in this house there is poetry

It spans across the globe and through the internet

Spoken in fluent tongues

And written on the finest parchment with the finest ink

It is spoken and written in this city where the lights inspire artists

Poetry is everywhere but here

Poetry is unkind and yet it is sensitive and sweet

Yet it is cruel to young minds

There is quick judgment when it comes to poetry

Poets have risen and fallen in moments

Poems have crumbled to words and words to letters to be used again and again

Poetry is fearless and poetry has no boundaries

I have seen them all yet I have many yet to see

Poetry is everywhere but here

Sometimes it sickens me to my core

The unnecessary amount of rhyme and love

Poetry is cold it takes no sides

Sometimes poets forget that poetry is the law of literature

Poetry determines who is worthy of wielding words

Yet poetry is everywhere but here

I have learned so much yet I have seen so little

Poetry goes on forever and I always find myself straying from the path

I can see it everywhere, on the windows and through the streets

It spans across the globe

Spoken in exotic tongues

Written on the finest parchment with the finest ink

It is spoken and written in this city where the lights inspire artists

Yet poetry is everywhere but here

Well, until today.
