In her mind there’s confusion

She says she understands but she lies

Even though she seems unbreakable

I hear her in the night when she cries

Making herself believe she's alone

Says no one will accept her

Acts as if we’d always throw her stones

But when we hold her she leaves

Try to love her and she screams

Rejecting the people who try to help

Won't let anyone get near herself

Jagged cuts and thin red slits

Covering her bloodstained wrists

All her pain is what she inflicts

She keeps trying to fool herself

Making things seem surreal

Creating monsters in her head

Letting demons clutch at her heels

Hoping for release

But too afraid to pray

Meanwhile calling on these ones to come

Yet wishing that they’d stay away

She’s so unsure of the truth

Now she wants to quit

Leave all her pain that she does inflict
