A single willow tree
in a meadow so dead
unable to become free
of her death bed

half way from the start
half way to the end
with a battered lonely heart
with no one to befriend

the wind blows
the rain creeps
now it flows
the willow weeps

lightning flashes the sky
strikes down the willow's core
tonight she will die
slowly she falls to the floor

a single willow tree
in a meadow so dead
she couldn't get free
of her death bed
