The whole sky seems possessed, with naked furies of lightening

My heart is struck too ---- enraptured and enthralled.

Winds rage... trees fall... at some thunderous command

I see a phoenix soaring through a ring of salamanders

With its blood-tinted wings and plummage of flames

It crashes through the darkness with passion untamed.

For long it remained enslaved, soul entwined in iron chains

No longer hungry and scourged, now lave oozes from wounds

Above... above old chestnuts with their spectral boughs

Vultures as ifsprout on them... on arms knotted... gnarled

This bird traces his passageway through chaotic mob of stars

Gliding in freedom ethereal, diving in enigmas

His reflection pierces deep the lakes of paradise

Whose spirit it may be, so restless, so volcanic...

"Apocalyptic Angel", my heart suddenly cries

" In somenameless dungeon, a poet might have died!"
