To me writing is like

baring your wrists to the world and

handing them very sharp razors.

Then praying, begging

that if they decide to cut

it wont be too deep.

It's pain wont last too long.

The scars wont be so bad that

you never recover.

But sometimes they are.

Sometimes it cuts so deep it

feels like you've lost the use of your hands

completely

and will never be able too use them again.

Sometimes this makes me want to

never

risk it again.

To curl into a safe ball

to hide from the world

and never be found.

But I am many things

but not a coward..

All of the time.

Sometimes though I am

surprised

instead of the bite of

cold steal

I feel a gentle brush

as if lips brushing my skin

over the scars the world

has left and it feels like

relief

and companionship.

Maybe love?

These times make it worth it

worth the bite of the razor

and the scars.

Although

I've always had a

fear of razors

and I think

always will.
