This is my deepest piece. It's about growing up, losing your childhood, then watching your own kids grow up just as you did...

Come to play with me again

Under starry skies

Mid summer

Mid July

Just you and I

Fading sunsets

Later nights

Friendship to last out time

As little children

Merely seven and eight

Love seems way too much

To weigh down our day

Same with hatred, lies and deceit

Simplicity in fun is what we have

Not tainted by that which we don’t receive

But year by year

We grow older

We change into the less innocent

We worry

Or childishness betrayed

And thrown away

Like a scrap for a starving dog

Our sanity is tested

Our wits maneuvered

Until he feel like we will buckle

More time passes

And we are alone

But we have kids of our own

Asking each other just the same

Come play with me again
