When a being dies, have you ever watched as its soul is released?

Have you ever bothered to notice the eyes as they glaze over? The emptiness those eyes now hold?

The little voice in the back of your mind, shrieking in pain from the needles of sorrow now piecing your heart.

The words, echoing, knowing that you will never again be able to interact or even share memories with that being for the rest of your time on this earth.

Never being able to talk to, to laugh with or share stories and advice.

The life that once filled their eyes is now devoid of anything, proving the sad truth that they are simply gone, never to return except in dream and memory.

And that, to me, is death defined.
