Pretty personal, so please don't be too harsh. Cleared up the faulty line breaks.

My Favorite Aunt

Rich brown eyes

Brightened

Dark hours.

Their liveliness

Clung,

Melted,

Softened

What we felt

Was solid.

Frizzy curls

Fringed

With fragments

Of gray

Fell,

Covered,

Your round face.

No one else

Had those ringlets,

Providing comfort,

Providing stability

With their chaos,

Your life was a mess

Stacked on top

Of your head.

Thick lenses

Slipped

Down the nose,

A single finger

Pushed

Back to their proper place.

Immersed,

In a familiar embrace.

Expected,

That scent of

Stale Whiskey.

I received a helpful letter,

From your hand.

It sits in a vacant drawer,

With no one to receive my reply.
