These days, everyone wants to fit in. My question is, why? Uniqueness is the reason every day life isn't boring. So be who you are, because the haters don't matter, and the people who matter don't hate.

Fitting In

It's an obsession

We all crave it

And yearn for it

but please,

tell me why.

Is it the desperate hope for love?

Or the fear of not being liked?

If you're worried about people not liking you,

let me tell you something, my friend.

We were created unique

though by what, I do not know.

We have our own lives

Our own bodies, our own souls.

We were made to be different

Not part of a hive mind.

Frankly, other people's opinions

Are barely even a guideline

So be who you are

And stand out from the crowd

Be the weird one

The bad dancer

The outcast that you are

If you want, look at it this way

The outcasts have more fun

While everyone else is talking,

like 'having fun' isn't good enough for them

We'll be on the dance floor

Then running off into the sun.
