Today it's a fine warm first day of spring
Our crocus is in full bloom
Smiling at the sun

We would be sitting at the door
Doing nothing
Just watching the world go by

I felt your warmth on my knees in my dream
So real
Unlike the emptiness of waking up

I now howl with pain
Alone in the dark
With my cold gasping heart

But life does goes on
Until you remind me of the silly little things
We will now never do

No more good mornings
No more making silly faces
Never get to ambush the Combine

Clink at the gate
Post at the door
Silence in the house
