I would like to hear about your interpretations of this poem I wrote. I wouldn't want to impose my opinions but this is a partly autobiographical piece. I write from my experience here.

The Rain

Self sacrifice I tried it,

I claimed and I owned it

Despite all the shit

I toiled through dirt,

Try as I might,

I couldn’t keep up the fight

I would have been trapped

In a beautiful house, yes,

But trapped nonetheless

I would have been trapped

In a beautiful house, yes,

But trapped nonetheless

And that is my weakness

And that is my bliss

And that is the darkness I come to miss

I toiled through dirt,

Try as I might,

I couldn’t keep up the fight

I would have been trapped

In a beautiful house, yes,

But trapped nonetheless

I would have been trapped

In a beautiful house, yes,

And that is my weakness

And that is my bliss

And that is the darkness I come to miss

And the trappings of time

And isolate, isolate…

Are all that I know

And feel

But still I turn back

To the dirt and the rain,

Try as I might

I pull myself out again…
