In My Right Mind

I want to kill myself,
And I know what you're
Thinking:  one of those self-
Immolating moths, sore-

Eyed, knowing that your
Wish is to never see such
Moths - so emulated - soar.
They disintegrate to the touch,

Never to see a wish as such.
But this body dies without me
Disintegrates to my touch.
So let's not pretend I agree

With this body dying out of me.
I'd live if not for neurons withered.
I'll not pretend, so let's agree
That in taking life I never dithered.

Not from dead neurons would I wither -
Those thinking of one's self
Ever.  In taking life, I did, there,
Want me to kill myself.
