Stuck In A Hated Fact

I stood beneath a tree, watching her stammer out her words to him. It was so painfully obvious the way she felt. He was the only person she truly wanted to prove herself to. Over the years, none of that changed, even while he was gone.

A bit farther off stood his two teammates, the one he has like since Academy days and the new one. For some reason, the dobe cared for the pink haired kunoichi, just as the pink haired girl cared for the missing-nin who was out for revenge. No one in this village notices the one who cares for them, a fact that makes me scowl.

The blonde dobe returns to his team, apparently from the pink weaklings call. I sigh, and walk toward the dark blue haired kunoichi who was left staring after the idiot who didn’t care enough to notice her.

For a moment, I stare into her pale lavender eyes, but shake myself out of it before she notices.

“Why not just tell him?” I asked. It was a question that many wondered.

“It wouldn’t matter. He cares too much for her.” For the shy and kind girl she was, she said the last word a bit harsh.

I sighed, and as she left to go back to her wretched family, I stared after her. The sun was beginning to set, and when her form disappeared I heard a familiar bark.

“I know, I know.” I muttered, walking to my companion. “I’m just another ninja stuck in the fact I hate.”

Answered by another bark, I began to walk home, hating the dobe for having her attention and not caring enough to notice it.
