Not that long  but quite recently we got ten young hens; not for poultry farming but to give it as soup and meat for my sister who delivered a baby and its a custom that came down from our ancestors to serve soup and meat. Dad decided to keep two hens as kind pets .Very interestingly, there was a white hen who always wanted to come out of its cage. If we wanted to give food, we had to open the cage but it would always fly out . It was very active . She never gave up. Dad said that we need to eliminate her first. Quite obvious- trouble makers are always discarded  first. But I saw something. I related my life to hers and felt we had something in common- Freedom, breaking barriers, going beyond and being free. And I said " Dad, she is gonna stay". Yes, she did stay. But the thing is she proved herself and I dint.
