This poem's interpretation is up to you. I will not tell you what I meant it to mean because I think that takes away from it.

He sat there
She sat there
A rock
A stone
A life unlived 5
A story untold

He sat there
She sat there
Mouth gaping
Eyes wide 10
Trying to soak up
All of their lies

He sat there
She sat there
Blank pages 15
No sounds
Restricting themselves
To only their bounds

He sat there
She sat there 20
Doing, knowing, finding nothing
And treating the world as such
Breathing but not living
Hearing but not listening
Trying but not succeeding 25
Not responding to an educated touch

He sat there
She sat there
An empty vessel
A vacant mind
Decaying under their power
Crumbling beneath their lines

He sat there
She sat there
Maybe they’ll find
A sound reason to their rhyme
But I can feel their mimics
I can spot their kind
A life unlived
An ending sign
