One of my most solemn poems, Road of Tears is about people's trials and errors, journeys and failures. Hope you don't get too depressed.

My feet hit the pavement
My breath grows weak
I have often felt this way
Frequently this bleak
5I can feel the pain in my eyes
Fighting back the tears
Trying to figure out what went wrong
Never can I hear
I have taken many paths
But here is where I end10
I stand upon this cold road
Rounding ‘round the bend
Now this old street is water stained
Soaked to its core
15My eyes have flooded it
Hearing my anguish roar
I step through road signs that stop me
The friends that try so hard to comfort
But when I see that red light
I floor it, risking a ticket20
And letting my emotions rain

Now the sun might set
And darkness might roll in
But I will hold my head up high
25Pretending I will win
And I plummet into the inky blackness
Losing all of my senses
I can’t tell which way is up
Barreling through their defenses
30Right now the sky is gray
But the clouds will part on my fears
Almost at the end of the street
Walking on the Road of Tears
