I sat alone one Friday night,

Entombed in layers of Winters Light,

Thoughts of coming events,

Fill me with such fright.

Ghosts come to visit,

As they did Ebenezer.

Past and Present wrongs,

Show why I deserve,

What is to come.

Future creeps in then,

And stays across from me,

Dark, frightening and uncertain.

Unlike the Carol,

Tis not a dream,

I must face Future,

Come smile or scream.
