I was dating someone when I wrote this but I don't think my relationship inspired this poem. Perhaps it was inspired by the first person with which I was intimate.

Lieing Hearts

Our hearts are broken.

Once again we run to each other.

Our pride was taken.

We became each other's lover.

We are not thinking of love.

We know only security and lust.

Lightning strikes a sign from above.

We know it's wrong, but our body screams we must.

You'll leave me tomorrow.

We'll find someone again.

Our hearts will recover from the sorrow.

A new love will begin.

But in the back of my mind this night will not die.

My new love will lay beside me.

I'll think of you and wonder why...
