11 June 1994: Then he went away

Poem by: Shannan Browne

Summary

Things begin and things end, yet the feelings live on in the memories and the moments until they learn to fade away... time, only time it appears, can help with the healing... but it is a slow process when it relates to what changed who you are.

11 June 1994: Then he went away

When you said you loved me,

I divided my heart in two.

One half I kept for myself,

And the other I gave to you.

I cherished all our secrets

And every moment of every day.

It was a wonderful romance,

Just perfect for yesterday.

When you said you loved me,

I divided my heart in two;

But now that you have gone away,

I need the half that I gave to you.
