Accepting the Award

Thank-you for this award.

For the acknowledgement

And appreciation,

And all it represents.

It has been my life’s work;

Alongside amazing nominees.

I’m truly overwhelmed

At receiving this heavy trophy.

Thank-you to all who supported me;

Who lent a shoulder of dignity;

Who helped when things got tough

And kept me in straight sobriety.

This award means so much.

I must thank-you with all my heart -

Those whose lives have crossed my path,

With memories that may just last.

Thank-you for this wonderful award;

For the prestige and accolade.

Thanks to all who helped along the way;

Too many to mention as the names fade.

I’m truly blessed, as the music plays,

It’s been an honour to receive this today;

I thank my Lord, my God in everyway;

Knowing I can rest in peace this way.
