Alveoli Roots

He planted a seed inside her heart,

He breathed it there as he went passed,

He cultivated it when he praised her,

He embedded it when he played her.

The seed grew into a plant,

With a magically glowing flower,

The centre of the gem,

A star with heaven's power.

The appearance of the star beam

Showed the light of her dreaming.

Yet, he was petrified at the seeing;

So ripped it from her being.

He ran away in fear forlorn,

Leaving her bare and torn.

The hole took years to heal;

Pain killing all she used to feel.

When the skin was back in place,

When the scar marked the space;

The seed grew again, planted shame,

Unneeded, burning flame.

Wind from soul to bud,

Rivers of flowing blood,

Roots established around her heart,

Under ribs, heart pumping mud to bud.

She cried out in torture, prayed in please,

For the Lord to lay her down to sleep;

For her body to find the solid earth, and

The roots to replant her: to rest in peace.
