Someone once sold me a vision
I sent myself out on a mission
Just a little short and naive
I thought everyone were the best they coould be
A little higher off the ground
Now understand why adults were so down
People change, that's for sure
Didn't think it could happen to her
She's so cold to me
So distant, it's unfriendly
We're stuck in everlasting winter
It's because of her
She greets me with a focused smile
When she sees me once in a while
She ignores the messages
That could include a cry for help in instance
Is this what a "friendship" is ?
This isn't the vision we saw as kids
It's the cold reality of the world
Makes my head spin and swirl
I've seen this all before
I've felt it all once before
Be careful
I'm fragile
I would hate to see you outside the door
It feels like my people have estranged
Like my whole world has changed
Walking aimlessly
Looking for a friend that'll listen to me
That won't drastically separate
Won't judge for my true heart's hate
Take me back to when I was short and naive
When I believed people were the best they could be.
