I shall not fall victim to your malady that mimmicks death!

Inside this shallow grave
is where you'll find me
buried between the truth and broken promises
you only spoke of missing me
now that I'm eaten away by your thoughts
your like some illness that I've caught

We put our hearts to rest
as I lay white roses at your feet
you kneel down and whisper,
"Our love was once true, but I never wanted it to come to this."

If you really love me, you will send medical supplies
to heal the pain you've left me in
Oh God how long was I awake?
it seems like days since we've slept

"Lay still, my dear" she replied
and "I'm sorry I must do this."
as she ripped out my heart and sewn it to her sleeve
I'm only held together by the thought that you may one day be mine

You only wanted me to love myself
when I could only think of loving you
as you filled my hollow chest
with the warmth and joy
that I have once lacked

no matter how much I wish you back,
our happiness was all just make belief
