About a year ago I met a man going through the same relationship woes as myself. We both went through horrible, dramatic splits and came together as friends. However, it seemed as though we were using each other to feel 'fixed' rather than dealing with our problems in a more responsible manner.

Have you forgotten?
You are guilty of that pain in you
And I will not let you use me as an excuse
For new tragedies that I won't witness
And I won't fix you, I cant.
But I'll hold your hand
And Pray for the day when we are better
Every night with you
Is the shortest long night of my life
With my head on your shoulder
Your lips are on my forehead
You touch me and you say..
"Everything will be alright"
But are you reassuring me?
Or yourself?
And I never want to go inside
If I could stay a minute more, I would
I'm smart enough to know that maybe..
just maybe.. the next time you walk away..
It could be the last time I watch you go
