A reminder to everyone about the flood in Pakistan.

In January of this year a massive earthquake struck Haiti. Eight months later people are still talking about it (as they should), sending funds and joining the relief efforts. Meanwhile, a large flood hit Pakistan in July. It has, to my surprise, recieved very little media attention. The tragedy in Pakistan has gone virtually unnoticed. I believe that people have been scared into an apathy towards Pakistan because it is part of "the dreaded Middle East" and because its citizens are predominantly of the Islamic faith. The Pakistani people are just as deserving as the Haitians of our relief efforts. Great harm has come to the people in the forms of illness, injury and even death because of the flood. The economy has also suffered greatly. I would like to see the world rally for Pakistan the way that it did for Haiti. I wish I had time to write more, hopefully will be able to add to this later but I would just like to remind everyone that the Pakistanis suffered a tragedy just like the Haitians. Please remember them with your time, money, prayer and other resources.

Shellie Burg:

Interesting topic and discussion. A laudable humanitarian effort. On your part. Including some hyperlinks to some of the worthy charities would help to facilitate your intent of charitable gift-giving.

Gave it an "I Like It" vote. As with your other postings. At times, without commenting.

Presentation Issues:

1. Your paragraphs seem too long and would benefit from breaking them down into multiple paragraphs.

2. Will make your postings more inviting to readers. Enabling you attract more readers and increasing your popularity.

Thank you for becoming a fan. Appreciative and grateful. You are most kind, thoughtful and considerate.

Happy trails,

Ed Bradley.

Thanks for the comment and the pointers, I'll take that into consideration for some of my future writings.

Hi, I am actually from Pakistan and I just saw this old post on Tragedy in Pakistan. I can relate to your posts and I feel a little good that they are still some people who see a "bright" side about Pakistan and can stand up with the Pakistani's. I just hope, Pakistan prospers soon :) I liked it.
