Life's Ponderings

Look closely at what is before you;

and see it with your heart.

Because if you see only with your eyes;

you will miss the most important parts.

The little bits and pieces

that are buried deep inside.

Just waiting to be discovered;

and no longer have to hide.

Like a rose that is slowly opening;

it's petals letting you get a glimpse within

of the inner core that is so protected

now open and caressed by the wind.

The most wonderful parts of a person;

are those that so many will never see.

For to find them will take patience;

and a willingness to set them free.

For the one who takes the time;

to go there and to explore.

The rewards will be so many;

when you finally open that door.

Wow,"The most wonderful parts of a person; are those that so many will never see" what great truths in this line. I loved the whole poem however, this line really stuck out. I enjoy reading your work. You put so much feelings and emotion into your poems. You arevery compassionate about your poems. I like that and respect that as well. Keep them coming.

This is beautiful Sherry ... in a world that only looks @ judges by looks, its time we look deep inside ... I am consider producing a a new reality TV progamme called This is Me ... and promoting people for who they are and what they do, not what they look like or what surgeons and dentists and hairdressers and beauticians can make them look like ... inner beauty ... please then again no one else is considering me doing it but Fox if one is reading thats my idea ... well done Sherry

You are so right Sherry. But we must look within ourselves to and make a conscious effort to show others by example what the best of a person can be.
So pleased that your smooth and flowing prose have returned for out delight

Warmly yours

So true, so true, Sherry! I have a line on my profile that says 'I love all people - some just make it hard to do so' and I mean it, I do, but some people hide within themselves for protection, for whatever reason and you have to look very deep to discover them.

very prophetic and beautiful words. U did yourself proud with this one. This reads effortlessly and has a connection with nature as it ebbs and flows so beautifully.
I have a new poem called Blue Angel for Ian Dawns challenge.
Id love your feedback!

Sultry Alice

This is a beautiful piece. The message is excellent and the poetic telling is superb. The analogy comparing getting to know someone with the opening pedals of a rose is very clever and charming.

I really liked this a lot!
