I had a dream.

There was someone standing before me, formed in the shape of a man; He was the most beautiful creature I’d ever seen. His figure towered over me. His aura radiated raw power. His eyes were pure gold, shimmering with love and grace. His skin was glowing blindingly brighter than the sun. His hair flowed down His back like a sheet of the most precious diamonds. He was clothed in a silk robe that was white as a fresh blanket of snow.

But my tears felt like burning coals running down my cheeks. My body was beginning to fade away like dust. Every breath felt like I was swallowing nails of rotted iron. My broken heart was lifeless in my trembling hands, shattered like shards of glass.

He kneeled down in front of me and reached out His strong hand, wiping the tears from my face; His touch was impossibly gentle, softer than a cloud.

He leaned forward and grabbed either side of my face, pulling me in so close that the thinnest paper could not come between us. He breathed into my lungs, and I felt a soothing warmth fill them - subsiding the pain.

He took a piece of His robe and wrapped it around me. I felt my skin reform from dust under the smooth silk.

Gracefully, He turned to His side and looked down. It was then that I noticed the young Lamb standing at His feet. The Lamb’s coat was brighter than shining stars on the darkest night; Its wool flowing across its body like the ocean’s most delicate pearls.

But there was something wrong. The Lamb’s throat was cut deeply, a horrible crimson coating His chest. The blood was fresh, flowing freely from His wound; yet the Lamb’s eyes still flickered with inextinguishable life.

The Man outstretched a cup made of the finest metals and dressed with the most beautiful jewels to the Lamb’s stained neck, filling it with the Lamb’s innocent blood.

Then, He returned His gaze to me - it held such compassion that I had to avert my eyes. He poured the cup over my heart, and the inexplicable happened.

The shattered pieces of my heart were drawn together like magnets; one-by-one stitching themselves back together until my heart was whole again. It slowly started to beat again, until it was pounding stronger than it ever had before.

A lake appeared by my side, so clear that I could see miles down. I caught my reflection and stood in awe. There was a power that was not my own flowing from me. My eyes were of pure gold, shining with love and mercy. My skin was glowing like the sun. My hair flowed gently down my back, shimmering like fine diamonds. I was clothed in a silk gown that was whiter than snow.

Looking back at Him, I realized that the reflection was not only my own. He had gifted His own image and Spirit, that mine might be renewed.

Just before I awoke, He gazed deeply in my eyes once more; this time, I could meet His with my own. He opened His mouth and the melodious voice that followed met my ears like a river of velvet honey,

“My child, live in fear no more, for you are Mine and I am yours.”
