Red Dog flashes back to a moment he remembers

He and John were in a club

Of exclusive members

But John was gone now, thought Red Dog sadly

Everything about John are now memories

John, so long

He thinks back to the fun he and John had

The times they spent together

Their relationship was ironclad

John, so long

John’s laughter was like a warm blanket, or a familiar song

To Red Dog, John was the best

He was so, so strong

John, so long

Red Dog thought about something, something that he thought of a long time ago

“Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened”

For it’s sad when someone you know,

Becomes someone you knew

John, so long

But now Red Dog is lying

With worried faces surrounding him

Some of these people were even crying

But Red Dog was happy

He had had a good life

The only thing he regretted was not finding the man,

Who made his life worth something

John, so long
