I take a different path
But in the end it was a circle
I’m right back where I started
Right back where I left you

You wave and smile
Introduce me to my old friends
Take me by the hand
And lead me back to our home

I guess old habits die hard
You say
Why leave the friends you love
The life you’ve always known

Were gonna’ dance till we drop
You shout
Celebrate your return
To those good old habits

It’s good to have you home
You whisper so sweetly in my ear
Your right back where you started
Right back where you left me

I’m giving in
Feel my mind slip into the night
Take me by the waist
Let me dance for you again

I guess old habits die hard
I yell
Over the loud music
And riot fueled night

We’re gonna’ dance till we drop
I shout
Why leave the friends I love
The life I’ve always known

Then the hour comes
That I realize the mistake I’ve made
Getting caught up in your ways
I have to leave this place

I remember
You are a monster in disguise
I dance this dark dance
Like a puppet to a master

[The chaos continues to ensue us as I step back away from you. Confusion crosses your face.]
“Come on what’s wrong?
You were dancing so well
Come on you looked so beautiful
Hey where are you going?
Come back right now!”
[I break away from the spell you’ve put me under, and start running for the door.]

Old habits you are my death!
I shout
Running out the door
Never to return again

But one day I’ll find myself
In that house with you
Returning to old habits

What can I say old habits die hard!
