Silent Wish

Cigarette smoke,

A laugh and a joke.

A face all made up,

And a half filled cup.

She smiles and giggles,

She's sturdy and little.

She's kind and caring,

Silly and daring.

She's more beautiful than the night sky,

And brighter than a firefly.

Show after show she dances and entertains,

Night after night she shouts and she strains.

But on an empty stage when it's all still,

She starts to doubt her acting skill.

Out there she utters words that could silence the kings,

But there's only stress as she waits trembling in the wings.

Out there there is only strength and heated rage,

But the tears fall silently as she sits backstage.

So to vanish her doubt,

and get my thoughts out.

I say only this to her,

Don't worry about what others will say,

Believe in yourself and you'll find your way.

For I've heard of your USA dreams,

To study under those great western beams.

Because if you take the right doorway,

There's no stopping you on your pathway to broadway.

Simply keep with your natural acting glow,

During all of the highs and each and every low.

Follow your heart, don't listen to no,

And you will keep storming every show.

Good luck Danielle Scott-Johnson
