I wish to congratulate you
For you have quite captured me
A better person I never knew
I have no wish to be free
From this spell you have cast
I am held in place by your warm eyes
Shackled down by your kind smile.
Caged in by your love so fast
I barely had time to rise,
And remind my heart to remain versatile.
You were like a climbing vine,
Sneaking your way through my tough skin,
Wrapping around my spine,
Closer than anyone’s ever been,
As your tendrils grew closer to my heart,
They began to squeeze so tightly,
It was almost causing pain,
I did my best to remain smart,
But this matter was not to be taken lightly,
As I began to fall like the rain.
