I held her in my arms and swayed slowly, imagining a stream of beautiful melodies flowing around us in the air, giving us the music to dance with. My heart beats like a drum as she smiles up at me,
then takes my hand and pulls me toward the balcony. The night air is just right, perfect for stargazing, and the city sleeps beneath us. She leans out far on the balcony ledge, and I place my hand
on the small of her back to keep her steady. I can’t help but grin as she looks up at the stars with wonder; she stays there in that position for a while, before grabbing my arm and asking quietly
for me to point out the constellations to her again. I do, slowly, allowing her time to give little gasps and she listens silently as I explain the stories of the ones I know, and the scientific
facts of the ones I don’t, which she giggles at sometimes, taking in all this information and looking between me and the stars with her brown eyes wide in awe. I reach up and point to two stars
that are the closest together and shine brightly, she nods to show that she sees them and I pull her close to me and whisper in her ear,
“Those one’s are us” She smiled fondly and whilst she’s staring up at the two stars, lost in her own thoughts, I notice her warmth against my chest and how perfectly she fits into me. I start swaying gently again, she looks up at me and I stare right back, getting lost in the perfection of her face,
“What are you dancing to?” She asked, breaking the spell and I smiled down at her, planting a kiss on the tip of her nose and watching it crinkle up cutely, before answering,
“The rhythm of our love,” She blushed and placed her head on my chest, swaying with me as the first shooting stars of the night began to fly across the night sky.
