THE ROSE THAT ONCE BLOOMED

The rose bud shackled by the sepals,
Came peeping out gradually and gladly,
Everyday reducing the size of the sepals,
And increasing its scarlet velvety petals,
Started blooming fresh with the dew drops,
Spreading its petals to feel the sunshine,
Together with the thorns it flourished,
Desire to see the world inside famished.

Alas! Before it could spread its sweet fragrance,
It was plucked away and decapitated,
Torne into pieces petal by petal mercilessly,
Now its velvety scarlet petals, lifeless,
Lie on the gloomy ground of the garden,
Now morning dew drops resemble as tears,
The branch once it decorated, now sad,
The loss of that beautiful rose was unbearable.

The plant asked mournfully to the creator:
“Why a life dies even before it is destined?
Why the rose that once bloomed freely,
Was snatched from its life so thoughtlessly?”
