We met in an empty coffee shop,

Both of us regulars.

For once, alone.

I don't know why I did it.

But my legs carried me to the table right in front of you

And before I knew it,

I was sitting down, ordering a coffee and playing the music on my iPod

I'm thankful for that.

It was because of the volume that made you tap my shoulder and told me it was too loud.

I apologized and turned it down

I should've apologized for jumping as well.

I'm not used to people starting a conversation with me.

Especially random beautiful women.

A few minutes later I felt another tap.

'Help me to watch my things while I go to my car?'

When you came back you asked if you could sit next to me.

Heart thumping and nervously screaming internally,

I calmly agreed.

We talked for ages.

More than I ever let anyone talk to me in a long time.

I began to like her.

We had the same tastes in nearly everything and she was so understanding.

I never met anyone like her before

-But then again,

I don't know many people.

Finally, I had to leave.

'Do you think we can see each other again?'

I pause.

Can we?

'No, sorry.'

I haven't been back to that place since.
