Today I pray for sunshine

Becausethe rain pours and pours

I do not walk outside

For fear of being soaked

I try to relax on the soft sofa,

My baby sister in my arms

Cooing softly,

She makes sure I know she's there

I cannot hold my lips still

I really don't mean to pout

I justcan't smile

Tears are all I can think of now

What did I do to deserve this?

Why did she have to punish me?

Was I bad?

Did I do something wrong?

If my mom were here

I'd tell her I'm sorry

But she's gone,

She's left me here alone

But wait,

I'm not alone

There's an angel above my head

Wearing a blue dress with pretty white wings

She says:

"You are a beautiful child of God.

Do not worry about the rain

For tomorrow, the sun will shine again."

Now she's disappeared

Gone back to heaven

But I smile anyway

Because my prayer was answered
