I just had a funny thought...what would happen if all the ants were ill....I know, very weird!

Watching a trail of ants marching by,
so small and so tiny in unison they stride.
Funny the way they send their messages along,
bumping into another in the line they belong.

Have you ever considered, if it went wrong,
the little ants missing, no longer as strong.
What would happen if a catastrophe occurred?
A colossal problem to rock their world!

Imagine if they all had a day off impaired,
all with a headache and pain of despair.
Who would take over their covert stuff,
passing on secrets as they bump as such.

Where would they go if not marching in line,
maybe an ant hospital with beds in align?
Would they stay home and snug in a bed?
Who would care for their poor little head?

What would happen to the song of their team?
How could we sing “marching one by one” theme?
We could not end with the familiar “hurrah”,
as no-one would know where the ants are.

Where would they go and where would they sleep?
Back to their mountain a labyrinth so deep?
Who would provide their food for the night?
This potentially could be a most terrible plight.

So aren’t we lucky when they bump their heads,
it’s only a signal to send the next one ahead.
No headaches or hospitals with beds in align,
the ants continue to march straight in their line!
