Anxiety is an arch enemy that brings about despair,
bringing sorrow to your soul, lost...sending you nowhere.
Destroying inner peace and any happiness you find,
draining joy out of life, casting a shadow on your mind.

With insomnia and loneliness, without a friend in sight,
eyes aching, red and watery from the many sleepless nights.
Ruminating thoughts constantly spinning around your head,
torn apart within your soul, now squeezed beyond repair.

Wondering when the endless questioning within the mind will stop,
your head is spinning out of control, anxiety at the top.
Confusion and understanding as to why it happens to you,
continually fearing the mistakes others might see too.

The trickle of your fear becomes a stream within your mind,
depression from the past, but fearing the future you will find.
Anxiety and vulnerability, the major featuring part,
oppression from within, adding burden to the heart.

You attempt to avoid the phobias, although others would never know,
it suffocates within, and tears will often flow.
Your heart beats so rapidly and pounds deep within your chest,
you feel nutty, insane and crazy at your very best.

Always feeling turbulent, anxiety tricks the mind,
wanting to run away, feeling nervous all the time.
You feel you scream so loudly, but no-one knows your pain,
trembling with fear, knowing the anxiety will rise again.

Your mind becomes so foggy with the twisting stream of words,
what you cannot see, often makes your anxiety grow worse.
You know the thoughts are irrational, but they overtake your brain,
the turbulence of this, giving you the sense of being insane.
