Up To Heaven..A Bus Journey!

It was one of the marvelous rainy days. I was sitting on the window seat in the bus which was galloping like a horse on the road.My niece was kneeling on the other end of the window-seat and thrust her head out into the dawn! The old woman who was sitting with me, Oh!..she was sleeping..just woke up and started yawning. My niece got disturbed on that and she showed it innocently by turning towards her side.

It was a pilgrimage that my family decided to the temple at Palani in Tamil Nadu when my sister lost her first baby.It was an offering that  the next  newborn baby's hair would be an oblation to express our gratitude. It is a hill top temple and it provides the marvelous beauty of nature. Moreover it helps you to enjoy the beauty of entire Tamil Nadu.

Most of the passengers were sleeping and a few of them were watching the movie which was running on the small screen. I could see the narrow ,thin and small waterfalls on either side of the road. Meanwhile my niece started to take all her toys one by one out which she had kept in the bag.

poor girl! she might have fed up of this long journey!

Suddenly, my sister shook my shoulder and told, ''the driver is sleeping''. I smiled at her because she does this kind of 'magic' always in her deep sleep. But,I realized that it was wrong when I turned to his seat. His hands were resting on the steering wheel and eyes were closed! The bus was just oscillating from left to right exactly on the road in a zigzag manner!. There was no vehicle on the road.

Thank God!.

I looked back at the passengers . Those who were watching the movie also had slept. My family was also having a very nice sleep. After five minutes of oscillation, the bus was stopped suddenly by shaking everyone from the sleep. The driver got out from the seat and announced loudly by tying his long handkerchief  around his neck,''We can have our breakfast from this hotel'' he pointed towards it.

I couldn't look at even as I was stunned!.Everyone got down. The old man who was walking in front of me started talking about the tasty Dosa-sambar of the hotel. I couldn't stop myself from asking my doubt that whether the driver was sleeping or not because I understood from his words that he was not new to the trip.He knew everything.

Immediately, I could hear his words,

''I have been to Palani for five years in the same bus. He is very good in driving!''.

"All are human beings". He sighed!

I didn't ask anything more.

I couldn't realize the taste of the Dosa and Sambar of the hotel but my family was indulged in the discussion on it in the bus after that.

I got confused, who was really sleeping? my sister? me? or the bus driver?
