Sitting at a skew on the uneven earth

Light beaming through glass

White and chipped the bushes surrounding the sanctuary

A rail wiggling in the harsh brisk air

Parked in the open planes

No one around.  Not even to hear a child’s scream.

An ocean of green crosses far among the land

A barn red as the blaze of a fire sits stationary near the field

The patio is the stage we gather on while waiting for a meal

A swing squeaks loud with every motion

Back and forth back and forth

Feet dangle from its sway

Musk taints your nose as you walk along the halls

Coming upon the fireplace roaring heat through the layout

The beds we lay on sink as we burrow down for the night

Lights dim and sounds creep

Darkness releases her shadows

Tossing and turning with immoral sounds

A peace falls between us when her voice trails up the stair case

And we sleep and wait for the sun.
