The type of love you may have for a person can turn ugly or manic. This poem I wrote describes how one can feel when they are overly obsessed with their love to the point where they are all they got in their life.

Don’t leave me! You’ve seen what I’ve been through.

I’ve taken you through the paths of my dark alleys

You’ve seen the sobbing eyes, heard the nights of confession,

Smelled the stench of a broken heart and dying spirit

Tasted the fragile lips of agony—felt the aching skin of self-infliction and abuse.

You was there! You’re all I have to trust and all I have to be one ounce of happy.

Sit and stay. I apologize—Just DON’T leave me.
