(Where Are U)

Wasn't it you that yelled at me
when I was late?

Wasn't you that grumbled
when I sloached as I ate?

Wasn't it that told me to say
please and thank you?

Wasnt it you that taught me to
share what I knew?

Wasn't it you that smiled if
I was early?

Wasn't it you that nodded in approval
when I sat up straight as I ate?

Wasn't it you that grinned
when I said please and thank you?

Wasn't it you that beamed
when I shared what I knew?

But...

Now whether I'm early or late
you aren't there
to smile or yell.

Now even if I sloach or bother to sit up straight
you aren't there to
nod or to grumble.

Now when I forget to say please and thank you
you're not there to tell me to.

Now if I don't bother to share what I know or knew
you're not there to teach me
or beam.

You're not here...

Where
Are
U?
